Atlanta

Two adults and three children stuffed in a Prius on a four hour drive to Atlanta to spend three days. Along the way we stopped 4 times to hunt for Geocaches. We never heard a "when are we going to be there" or a "I am tired of riding" , no whining, no nothing but sweet happy children. I am convinced that taking many stops to run and hunt caches is the way to travel. It took more than the usual 4 hours but we all arrived with our sanity. Talk about arriving. Wow. What a beautiful, warm, and welcoming home. We had the most fabulous weekend with Grandpa Bailey and Grandma Linda! We have not seen each other for over ten years, and after years of corresponding through emails and phone conversations we decided it was time for a trip. Linda and I did not stop talking the entire time and the same can be said for Steve and Bailey. The kids talked to the birds. Boy were the birds a hit! Jack, the bird, is a character telling everyone that "We'll be back" and "Bye Bye Birds", or if he got mad he would yell, "LINDA!", in Bailey's voice. This bird is smart! We enjoyed the warm weather and the afternoon at the zoo. The children were begging to stay one more day. We already miss Linda and Bailey and cannot wait for our next visit. Hopefully they will be coming to the big town of Rock Hill!

We had a GREAT time with the Hamel family. Each of them is special in his/her own way and we absolutely love all of them. The kids were amazing: Cody is so warm and polite and a big help!! Nolan entertained us with bird and animal sounds, and Logan showed us her artistic ability. Dad Steve has a hilarious sense of humor, and, my Susan is beautiful on both the inside and outside. She and Steve are great parents; it shows in the children.
Our parrots were shy and a little scared of everyone at first, but 2 of them warmed up, and Jack, who is personality plus, kept everyone laughing. He might look a little ragged because he plucks his feathers (like a human biting their nails), but one cannot help but love him.
We are just so happy to have the Hamels in our life and we can't wait to see them again!
